Description
Enjoy VIP access, skip the line to the famous opening ceremony, and view the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London. This exclusive tour will provide you with the opportunity to explore the formidable tower in a way many people don’t get to. Far from the crowds, under the quiet morning sun, this is an experience you will remember forever.
The tour will start with the Opening Ceremony, a military ritual that officially opens the famous edifice. Guests can then enjoy a brief overview of the Yeoman Warders – the tower guardians, before moving on to the Jewel House, where you can see the Crown Jewels up close and personal.
Next, your guide will take you through the rest of the Tower, including the Execution Site on Tower Green, where many nobles lost their heads. You will then make your way to the Bloody Tower – the very prison where Sir Walter Raleigh was kept for 13 years, and then onto the Tortue Chambers. This part of the tour will give you an insight into the dark history of the fortress.
You will walk along the famous Tower Walls with a quick look inside the refurbished bedroom of Edward I, and spy some of the Tower’s most famous residents – the ravens! Wrapping up your exploration, you will step into the White Tower for an in-depth look at a refurbished medieval castle. You are welcome to explore further parts of the tower once you have parted ways with your guide.
At the end of the tour, you will receive a flexible one-way River Thames City Cruises boat pass to be used on any day and from any pier.
