Description
Ignite your love of motor racing at Silverstone Museum, located trackside at the Home of British Motor Racing! Delve into the rich history of Silverstone Circuit, from its beginnings as an RAF training base, right through to modern-day racing from the likes of Formula 1, MotoGP, and Touring Cars.
Take your place in the Starting Grid pre-show and feel the roar of the engines, before stepping out into the renovated World War II hangar and discovering how the Home to British motor racing came to be. There's even a scale model of Silverstone Circuit for you to pick up a throttle and race your friends and family!
The experience doesn't stop there though. Explore the incredible collection of racing cars and motorbikes from across the decades, including from the very first race at Silverstone in 1948! Get up close to some iconic motor racing memorabilia too, with race suits, trophies, helmets, historic documents, and more waiting to be discovered in the exhibition.
Learn about what goes into making a modern racing machine in the Tech Lab, with the chance to see and touch some real F1 car parts. Don some race marshal overalls and wave the chequered flag for a fantastic photo op, find out what it takes to be a race commentator, and hear from some famous names in motorsport!
Once you've enjoyed all that the exhibition has to offer, the fun continues outside on the Heritage Track Trail. Step onto the hallowed tarmac of the decommissioned Bridge Corner, learn about the historic changes to Silverstone's circuit, and take your place on Luffield Terrace to view the current track and witness any on-track action! Discover all of this and more at Silverstone Museum.
