Description
The southwest of England is considered one of the most beautiful areas of the country, and on this 3-day tour, you will get to experience the very best of it with visits to Stonehenge, Bath, Glastonbury, and stunning coastlines.
Day 1
Your tour will start by travelling through the ancient kingdom of Wessex to Stonehenge. The impressive stone circles will provide more questions than answers, but it is an insight into the spirituality of the past and an experience you will never forget. Next, you will move onto the Jurassic Coast, where the cliffs are full of fossils from the age of dinosaurs. You will travel along the coast to Durdle Door, an incredible limestone arch that juts into the ocean, before moving on to Exeter. The town boasts ancient city walls, a Gothic cathedral, a Norman castle, and more. You will be based here for the next two nights.
Day 2
The second day of the tour invites you to explore the magnificent Dartmoor, where you can see native ponies grazing close to the striking rock formations. Home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, there is much to see, hear and smell in the moor’s isolated beauty. Next, you will cross the ancient Clapper Bridge at Postbridge before heading to Tavistock. The historic market town is the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake, and the perfect spot to wander. You will then head back to Exeter in the early afternoon, allowing plenty of time to explore the town at your own pace.
Day 3
The final day of the tour will take you to the world-famous Glastonbury. While known for the music festival, the area is also a deeply spiritual and religious site. You can scale the Glastonbury Tor and pose for photos, before travelling to Bath in time for lunch. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon and explore the many restaurants, tea shops, or pubs before wandering the streets. You will then return to London in the evening.
