Description
Combining culture, history and natural beauty embark on a tour to some of the UK’s most mesmerising and intriguing locations.
Explore Blenheim Palace – the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and discover its grandeur. Soak up its lavish interiors, and expansive gardens, and enjoy picturesque views. With over 300 years of history and heritage, Blenheim Palace is one of the greatest displays of Baroque architecture. Filled with intricate details, delicate carvings, hand-painted ceilings and porcelain collections, it is one of the finest antique collections in Europe. While there, you will enjoy a delicious Cream Tea consisting of scones with jam, clotted cream, and hot tea.
You will then visit Stonehenge to theorise how and why the Neolithic monument came to stand on Salisbury Plain 5,000 years ago. Marvel at the ancient stones and learn about the fascinating history of the iconic site. Was Stonehenge a place of sun worship, a sacred burial site, or something completely different? There are many unanswered questions but one thing that is known for sure is how incredible a feat it was for the builders of Stonehenge to construct such a monument with only basic tools at their disposal. Spend some time coming up with your own theories.
Finally, you will visit Oxford. You will embark on a walking tour of the ancient city and enjoy the atmosphere, beautiful scenery and architecture. Explore the cobbled streets and pass famous colleges and landmarks as your guide provides facts and interesting stories about the city and the famous residents who have lived there.
